Communications company to add 38 jobs in West Palm Beach

West Palm Beach Economic Development Director Christopher Roog

The city commission is set to vote today for up to $22,800 as part of a state incentives package for a communications firm to locate a studio in the city.

The item is on this afternoon’s consent agenda, which means it is one of several noncontroversial items scheduled for approval without discussion. The city has not identified the company, referring to it only as “Project Topaz.”

According to the agenda, the project will create 38 jobs at 115 percent of Florida median income. The total incentive package will be $114,000, with the city’s portion being 20 percent over five years as the jobs are created, or $4,560 per year.
